U.S. Commemorative Stamp Series
About
In an effort to acknowledge historical events dating back to the American Revolution, the Tri-Ad Veterans League, based in Boston, MA, is seeking your assistance in collecting signatures to be presented to the US Postal Service. This initiative aims to gain approval for the establishment of a commemorative postal stamp series designed to educate and inspire both our Nation and the global community. The online petition invites your support by signing to advocate for the thirteen paintings featured in the art exhibit, “Triumph, Unsung Black Veterans in U.S. History,” to be transformed into a commemorative stamp series that honors the bravery, sacrifices, and dignity demonstrated by Black Veterans in their service to a free nation.
How it all started:
A project to educate the Public regarding the under representation of the African American Veterans was also launched. Haywood as the CEO of Tri-Ad Veterans League commissioned and paid for the creation of "Triumph, a Forgotten History" art exhibit consisting of 13 inspirational renderings that have been exhibited in many places including the State House. A campaign to gather signatures and support was begun after US Congressman James McGovern was impressed by the exhibit. The Congressman suggested that the exhibit and its accompanying presentation could become a U.S. commemorative postage stamp. A proposal and petition is being submitted to the Postal Service this July for consideration and approval.

This art series represents more than black history, more than the sacrifice of our black veterans, and more than an art installment; this is a truly communal project ·:hat unites and involves us all.
